That's right, folks. The Fishtown Beer Runners (the O.G.'s of acceptance, friendliness, and kindness in Philly's running scene) are moving their famed weekly meeting spot from founder David April's doorstep to Palmer Park (the corner of Frankford & Palmer).
If you're a hardcore Beer Runner, this might hit your heartstrings a bit. David's front doorsteps have made damn near a decade of memories. However, as their popularity grows, so does the need to accommodate all of those thirsty beer-hungry runners! We salute you as you journey to the beautiful Palmer Park, and encourage anyone who has not yet joined the Beer Runners to make joining them a priority!
Straight from David's Facebook:
"End of an era. Beginning March 16, FBR will start the Fishtown runs from Palmer Park located at Frankford Ave & East Palmer Street. The park offers more room to gather and is more centrally located. Our last run from 2346 E. Susquehanna Ave. will be March 9th. Remember, if you can't make it to Fishtown, our South Philly group meets at 7th and Bainbridge. Runs from both locations begin at 7:00 PM. (it is also that much closer to Johnny Brenda's)"
If you'd like to give a final goodbye to the original meeting spot, show on at 7pm on March 9th and be ready to run.
