Happy Friday, Philly Running Community!
Here's a breakdown of some cool stuff that is happening in our great City.
TRAIL MARKERS ARE BEING IMPLEMENTED ON THE SCHUYLKILL RIVER TRAIL!
Indeed, implementation of emergency markers on the SRT have begun, starting with The Schuylkill Banks. These yellow and black markers (pictured) are being placed anywhere from 250ft+ along the trail. If you are in an emergency, use the SR-### location on the sticker when dialing 911. Emergency responders have integrated the codes into their GPS systems.
If you pass by a member of the Schuylkill River Development Corporation, or a member of the Philly Police Department, be sure to give a smile and a wave for all of their hard work in getting these placed!
IT'S LOVE RUN HALF MARATHON WEEKEND!
RUN215 will be on site at the expo tonight and tomorrow, so make sure you say hi and spread those positive vibes if you see one of us, or anyone sporting the colors!
We also have an official Love Run Team and Tent! Friends, family, and supporters are encouraged to hang with us as we tear up 13.1 miles on Sunday morning. Bring your loudest cheering voices, grab those pots and pans, and let's raise some hell!
#MYCITYMOVES CAMPAIGN COMMENCEMENT
Thank you to EVERYONE that was a part of the #MyCityMoves campaign brought to you by City Fitness, Endeavor Athletic, Thrive, Palette Group, and Core Water! Together we burned over 3 MILLION CALORIES in the month of March. Absolutely incredible. If you wanna see what this was all about, check out this awesome video:
Thanks to YOU, RUN215 community, City Fitness donated $2,000 on our behalf to the Smith Playground redevelopment project!!!
Funded by our own Philadelphia Eagle, Connor Barwin, Smith Playground in South Philly will be seeing a serious facelift over the next few months, with new baseball fields, a track, football field, and community fitness center!
We are honored and humbled to be given such a gift on our behalf.
That's all for today!
