Some important information for the Get Well Relay for Officer Miller:
START: Rowland Ave & Chippendale St, Philadelphia, PA 19136
DATE: Sunday, May 29 2016
DISTANCE: 4(ish) Miles
RAIN OR SHINE.
We will BEGIN where the accident took place at Rowland Ave & Chippendale St, Philadelphia, PA 19136 (A block from Lincoln High School) Tip* - The Market Frankford Line is the easiest way to get there. Then you can run or hop onto the 88 bus.
From Rowland & Chippendale we will head towards the hospital where Officer Miller is currently staying. For the privacy of his family, we are not announcing that location online, but will make sure everyone has route information upon arrival. When we get there, we'll have one of the officers bring all of the cards into the room. We're not sure if Officer Miller will be able to accept the visits of everyone that comes, but we'll definitely make sure he knows we're all out there in support!!!
**DON'T FORGET TO BRING GET WELL CARDS, FLOWERS, OR ANYTHING YOU THINK WOULD LIFT OFFICER MILLER'S SPIRITS!
**If you can't make the run, you can drop get well soon cards off at ANY Philadelphia Runner location (Center City, U-City, Glen Mills, Manayunk)
If you have any questions, please feel free to drop us a line at email@example.com
Thanks and see you on Sunday!!
Last Sunday, Septa Police Officer Gary Miller was severely injured by a hit-and-run vehicle. Officer Miller sustained a concussion, broken legs, and more, and will need multiple surgeries. What does this have to do with us? Not only does Officer Miller serve and protect, but he’s a fellow runner. So here’s where you come in:
We will be collecting “get well soon” cards at ALL Philadelphia Runner Locations from now through Sunday 5/29 at Noon. We will then do a group run to the hospital to surprise Officer Miller with cards, flowers, and a brand spankin’ new pair of running shoes to get that spirit lifted.
Monetary Donations will be accepted on behalf of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
So once again:
- Write Officer Miller a get well soon card
- Drop them off at ANY Philadelphia Runner Location through Sunday at Noon.
- We're gonna run the flowers, cards, donations, and a new pair of shoes and surprise Officer Miller on SUNDAY 5/29 (STARTING LOCATION AND TIME WILL BE POSTED HERE AND ON THE FACEBOOK EVENT PAGE)
GET WRITING!!! SHARE SHARE SHARE! SPREAD THE WORD! (AND TRY NOT TO LET OFFICER MILLER FIND OUT, CAUSE WE'RE GONNA TRY AND SURPRISE HIM)
