A few years ago, local runner/hilarious human being/ultimate meme-machine/Non-Serious Runners Athletic Association of the Greater Delaware Valley 267 founder Mikey llagan created this gem as a friendly reminder that you are NOT, in fact, finished the Broad Street Run when you pass underneath the photographer at the Navy Yard gates.
The meme has since become one of the funniest/most beloved photos each year during race weekend.
Well, now it has found it's place in official Broad Street Run glory, as the equally amazing people at The Navy Yard have immortalized the meme underneath their infamous gate.
Philadelphia, we freaking love you.
Still searching for that epic playlist to get you through the country's largest 10 mile race?? (and one of the 10 largest races in America, according to Runner's World Marathon)
Well fear not, because the rad humans over at WKDU, Philadelphia's award-winning non-commercial radio station, have you covered. DJ Chris Burrell has put together a whopping 1 hour 31 minute (and 46 second) mix of soulfull-as-hell house music that, as Burrell puts it, "starts off groovy and gets heated up right when you need it."
This one is sure to make the disco/househeads out there reeeeeaaallly happy.
Check out the mix right here, available for free via SoundCloud, and groove your way to the finish line tomorrow!
GOOD LUCK OUT THERE!
Here are 21 essential running tips to get the most out of your Broad Street Run experience, explained through memes.
Shout out to Mikey Llagan, and our RUN215 contributors for making these dank memes possible.
Here we are - days away from the largest 10 miler in the country. Naturally, the pre-race jitters start to set in. What should I eat? Have I trained enough? Do I have everything I need for race day?? Of course, there's one more dreaded question that is always asked (and don't act like you didn't check) - What if it rains??
